I have listened to this complete Rat Race Volume 1 album a few times now. I dig it, it is hip hop. If you like real hip hop you will like this new album by Jersey Demic. Most Definitely worth a listen, go scoop it on iTunes and support real artists making real music. Rather use Amazon?
Demic is from the east coast, New Jersey to be exact. I first met Demic out on the HIN tour a few years ago. He always puts on a solid live show, gets the crowds hyped. Good people. Him and his crew are always welcomed at any of our events.

Jared Leto as Kurt Cobain

Facebook and Twitter were ablaze yesterday with all sorts of condolence messages regarding the 17-year anniversary of Kurt Cobain‘s death. One of the most poignant (and one of oddest, too) remembrances of Kurt Cobain was the heartfelt blog post of 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto, who admitted, “Not sure I’d be doing this if it weren’t for [Kurt].”
Then, Jared Leto shared with fans an extremely eerie video in which he’d impersonates the Nirvanasinger, wandering through the woods and singing classics like “Pennyroyal Tea” and “Rape Me.” Jared channeled the essence of Kurt Cobain at his December 1993 MTV “Unplugged” performance, right down to the cardigan. The actor made the clip after hearing there were plans of a Cobain biopic – Gus Van Sant’s “Last Days,” perhaps — but never showed it to anyone… until now.
“I heard today (April 5) was the day Kurt passed away 17 years ago. Can’t believe it’s been that long. So grateful for his contribution and inspiration. Not sure I’d be doing this if it weren’t for him. He gave us all permission to create no matter what our skill set and reminded me that dreams are possible. Thanks for that. This made me recall a short piece of film I shot when I heard they were making a film celebrating his life. I made it to explore the character and explore creative possibilities. I never sent it to the studio or to anyone but thought I’d share it now…” - Jared Leto
